Try not to worry Snow Angel - they are keeping a close eye on you and this is a good thing. Let us know how you get on.

Hi, are you taking your first mtx today? Good luck with it, and don't worry, you will soon get used to the blood tests.

You'll be fine. Blood results do fluctuate, so don't worry.

Don't worry about your blood tests. They are routinely done to check how your disease is affecting you and to make sure the medication is not doing any serious harm to your kidneys or liver.
You also find that they vary all the time, so don't worry about that either. In a way I find them reassuring because I can check for myself to see if there may be something I feel I should mention. When your RA settles you will soon get to know what is normal for you.
When you get your results, ask for an explanation of what everything means and what might be considered normal for an RA patient (my book has that information written in it). I find knowing that makes me feel more in control.

Try not to worry although easier said than done!
They will ring if anything worries them at all, that is why one is so closely monitored on some of the DMARDs. If anything was wrong then it will be picked up as soon as..

Hiya,
Everyone here has given great advise, when I was on mtx at first I was paranoid, everything that I had, I thought it was the mtx, I have to say that it did take me some time to agree with this medication, however, when it did kick in at the right dose, I felt so much better and it was worth the settling in period and blood fluctuations for the first few months.
I wish you all the best with it, it has helped me no end, good luck,
Ellie
